UAE unveil 17-member squad for Asia Cup 2025
Muhammad Waseem to lead side against India, Oman and Pakistan
DUBAI – Prolific opener Muhammad Waseem will captain the 17-member UAE squad for the DP World Asia Cup 2025, which begins in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday, 9th September.
UAE have been drawn in Group A, alongside India, Oman and Pakistan.
The national side will begin their campaign against India at the Dubai International Stadium on Wednesday, 10 September. Their second group fixture is scheduled against Oman on Monday, 15 September at the Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi, before facing Pakistan on Wednesday, 17 September back in Dubai. The top two teams from each group will qualify for the Super Four stage, starting Sunday, 21 September.

Squad details
The UAE line-up features a combination of experienced campaigners and promising newcomers. Alongside captain Muhammad Waseem, the squad includes Alishan Sharafu, Aryansh Sharma (wicketkeeper), Asif Khan, Dhruv Parashar, Ethan D’ Souza, Haider Ali, Harshit Kaushik, Junaid Siddique, Matiullah Khan, Muhammad Farooq, Muhammad Jawadullah, Muhammad Zohaib, Rahul Chopra (wicketkeeper), Rohid Khan, Simranjeet Singh and Saghir Khan.
Support team
The support staff announced for the tournament comprises Amjad Ezzi (team manager), Lalchand Rajput (head coach), Azharuddin Qureshi (strength and conditioning coach), Manipreet Sidhu (video analyst), Naveed Ahmad (fielding coach), Darshan Singh (side-armer) and Manish Pradeshi (physiotherapist).
Asia Cup 2025 schedule
The UAE fixtures in Group A are as follows:
- Wednesday, 10 September – India vs United Arab Emirates, Dubai – 6:30pm
- Monday, 15 September – UAE vs Oman, Abu Dhabi – 4:00pm
- Wednesday, 17 September – Pakistan vs UAE, Dubai – 6:30pm
The Super Four will run from 21 to 26 September, culminating in the final on Sunday, 28 September at the Dubai International Stadium, with Monday, 29 September designated as a reserve day.
